Sophia College (Autonomous), Ajmeris an institution that aims at preparing committed responsible women who after graduating from the institution would be sufficiently competent to undertake the social and community responsibilities with confidence. The NSS activities are focused to provide holistic development to the volunteers to make an effective contribution to Community, Society and Nation. The College has 2 NSS units with approximately 250 volunteers who work with the aim of creating awareness, and sensitivity towards the environment and the needs of the less fortunate and under privileged in society through various activities such as Outreach programs, Blood Donation Camps, Awareness Programs, Seminars, Tree Plantation Drives,Rallies and teaching the poor children of the neighbourhood

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SESSION 2025-26

  • Each One Teach One Programme From July to March, NSS volunteers taught underprivileged children, supporting academics through daily classes,activities, and incentives, fostering learning, discipline, and overall development in adopted and nearby villages.
  • Tree Plantation Drive On 5th August 2025, volunteers conducted a Tree Plantation Drive at Bhopa–ka Wada, promoting environmental awareness and sustainability while encouraging community participation in creating a greener future.
  • Raksha Bandhan Celebration On 7th August 2025, volunteers celebrated Raksha Bandhan at Mother Teresa’s Destitute Home, spreading joy, love, and compassion while building emotional bonds with the residents.
  • Sadbhavana Diwas Celebration On 20th August 2025, Sadbhavana Diwas was celebrated through songs, speeches, nukkad natak, and a rally, promoting unity, harmony, goodwill, and national integration.
  • Swachh Bharat Abhiyan On 15th September 2025, volunteers participated in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, cleaning the campus and promoting cleanliness,civic responsibility, and environmental awareness.
  • Health Walk on Suicide Awareness and Prevention On 16th September 2025, a Health Walk promoted suicide awareness and prevention, encouraging mental health advocacy, compassion, and community support with participation from various institutions.
  • Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect Programme On 23rd September 2025, the college hosted Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect, inspiring youth participation in nation-building under MYAS and NSS collaboration.
  • . Environment and Ecological Awareness Programme On 4th October 2025, an awareness programme by Dr. Sunil Britto emphasized environmental responsibility and sustainable living practices among students.
  • Poster Making Competition On 14th October 2025, a poster competition on social themes encouraged creativity and awareness on family planning, gender equality, and maternal health.
  • National Adventure Camp Participation Three NSS volunteers attended the National Adventure Camp in Manali, developing leadership, teamwork, and endurance through outdoor and adventure activities.
  • Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp Participation Volunteer Anshita Mittal attended the Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp, gaining discipline, confidence, and leadership skills through rigorous training.
  • World AIDS Day On 1st December 2025, a candlelight march raised awareness about HIV/AIDS, addressing stigma, prevention, and the need for compassion and support
  • Human Rights Day On 10th December 2025, a human chain, speeches, and performances highlighted human dignity, equality, and the importance of protecting fundamental rights.
  • National Integration Camp Participation Two volunteers attended the National Integration Camp, promoting unity, cultural exchange, and national integration.
  • Blood Donation Awareness Camp On 12th December 2025, an awareness and haemoglobin test camp promoted blood donation and health consciousness among students and staff.
  • Blood Donation Camp Fifty volunteers donated blood at JLN Hospital, supporting thalassemia patients and promoting the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation.
  • Seven-Day Special Camp From 23rd–30th January 2026, volunteers conducted literacy, cleanliness, and awareness activities, empowering rural communities through education and health initiatives.
  • Free Medical Camp On 29th January 2026, a medical camp provided free treatment and medicines to over 100 rural patients, promoting healthcare access.
  • National Youth Day & Nasha Mukt Bharat On 12th January 2026, speeches, a nukkad natak, and a pledge promoted youth responsibility and awareness against substance abuse.
  • Quiz on Government Welfare Schemes On 3rd February 2026, a quiz enhanced awareness of government schemes, encouraging informed citizenship and social responsibility.
  • Workshop on Budget Analysis 2026-27 A workshop on Budget Analysis 2026–27 was organized for volunteers, equipping them with essential skills to understand financial planning, analyze allocations, and critically evaluate government spending for informed civic engagement.
  • Three-Day Camp From 16th–18th March 2026, sessions on road safety, cyber security, social media, and environment promoted awareness,responsibility, and informed decision-making.
Through thoughtfully planned activities addressing socio-economic issues, volunteers dedicated themselves to community service. With compassion and responsibility, they promoted awareness, supported the underprivileged, and encouraged sustainability. Engaging closely with communities, they enhanced well-being while gaining deeper social insight, cultivating empathy, leadership, and a spirit of selfless service within themselves.
